At The Bournemouth Youth Theatre our aim is to excel in providing a platform that
creates a theatre company environment for young people in training.

Intermediates
Dancing, Singing, Acting Classes
Wednesdays: 5:30pm - 6:30pm

From their very first class our intermediate students will be supported and encouraged to achieve their very best within our safe, friendly and welcoming studios. Focusing on the amalgamation of dancing, acting and singing, always with a strong emphasis on fun and creative expression.

Our intermediate students will develop their confidence and technical practice to aid performance and stage presence. They will learn how to support their breath and project safely (with emphasis on good vocal health and clarity of sound). Through script/lyrical work, improvisational tasks, acting through song, dance and technical study, working on short plays and musical theatre pieces.

Students will be encouraged to explore their individuality and creativity from a young age. Learning to collaborate with their fellow class members whilst supporting each other as they progress.

A step up from our intermediate class - delving deeper into the world of theatre and performance with a greater emphasis on technique.

Whether a student has had prior training or they are just beginning their journey; senior students will be supported and encouraged to achieve their very best within our safe, friendly and welcoming studios.

Our Senior Class focuses on:

The amalgamation of dancing, acting & singing, developing technical knowledge and individual training

Understanding the singing voice and learning how to support and project their voices safely

Group harmony work and solo practice with microphone technique

Expanding knowledge of a multitude of dance styles

Corner and Centre work

Acting through song, script work including short plays and musical theatre pieces, improvisational and devising tasks.

The BYT's MTC (Musical & Theatre Class) provides the necessary foundations for those wishing to pursue a dynamic future within the performing arts, offering the highest level of training within our safe, friendly and welcoming studios.

Students are supported and encouraged to work with a professional attitude and given the physical training, mental preparation and business acumen to manage auditioning as well as working within the performance industry.

MTC is a fast paced and highly motivated class that requires stamina and dedication and is particularly beneficial for those students currently studying GCSE, A-Level and BTEC performance courses, bridging the gap between the educational and vocational courses.

Exam Classes
& Audition Preparation Classes
Weekday 1-2-1 Sessions in
Trinity & LAMDA
(All Ages Welcome)
£9 per session if taking both syllabus classes
£12 per session if taking a singular syllabus class

*Anyone who is not a member of The Bournemouth Youth Theatre but is interested in our exam classes. Please contact Nicky or Emma separately as lessons will be charged at a private rate. ​​

Trinity (Singing - Rock & Pop Syllabus) with Nicky Ashford (100% exam pass rate)

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art - Solo Acting) with Emma Henderson (100% exam pass rate)

Our private sessions are specifically designed to help students progress in their chosen area, offering in-depth and focused training which can be syllabus led.

Taking exams will allow students to mark their achievements at each stage of their development. Higher exam grades will enable students to gain essential UCAS points. Inspiring each individual student to reach their full potential.

These two exam boards (Trinity and LAMDA) are world renowned in theatre and will look great on a CV for future work.

Our 1-2-1 sessions are open for all ages and can get booked up quickly, if you would like more information or would like to book a weekly time-slot, then please do get in touch and we will be happy to chat through options.
